And people, for whatever reason, there was so much hype about it,

that what was going to go on at this court appearance,

and Mr. Eumann, Rex Eumann, has been charged with killing three women

and burying their bodies, of course,

near Gilgo Beach, in a case that up until very recently was open for nearly 13 years.

In court, yesterday was about 140 spectators.

Some were relatives of those who were killed. Others were members of

the press who had reported on Mr. Uman, but never had seen him in person. Little had been known

about this hearing in Suffolk County Court and Riverhead early Tuesday morning. It was referred to

merely as a conference. In court records, and in most cases,

it would have been a routine appearance. Yet roughly 250 reporters, producers, photojournalists,

and videographers waited for hours to watch the eight-minute proceeding. It was the second time

Rex Eumerman, a 15-9-year-old architectural consultant in Manhattan,

who of course has denied the charges and pled not guilty since he was arrested on July 13th.

Prosecutors on Tuesday said they gave Mr. Eumman's lawyer Michael Brown for two-terabyte hard drives that contained 2,500 pages

of documents and photographs and hundreds of hours of video collected by the police and prosecutors.
