Summary

Have you ever thought something negative about yourself or your situation? Maybe you’ve learned from experience that it doesn’t take long before that single toxic thought can lead to a downward spiral of negative emotions, depression, or anxiety. Maybe you’ve experienced a past trauma that has stuck with you, you have a negative relationship with food, or you’re fighting against toxic perfectionism. Whatever your experience or struggle, your mind plays a powerful role.  So in this episode, Jordan talks with neuroscientist Dr. Caroline Leaf to learn how to manage our minds and rewire our brain to heal from toxic thoughts, emotional distress, and trauma. Make sure you take a couple deep breaths, grab those headphones, and tune in to get ready to have your mind blown. You’ll learn: The difference between the brain and the mind How the mind affects the body and your health Why meditation isn’t enough to rewire your brain (and what is) The 5 steps of the NeuroCycle and how to use them to rewire your brain and heal from toxic thoughts, emotional distress, and trauma How mind management can affect your genes To learn more from Dr. Leaf, check out her website at www.drleaf.com.
