Hey, it's me, Dora. Welcome to Radiohead Space and to Wednesday. For today, I wanted

0:20.9

to explore the idea of letting go. In mindfulness, you hear this term a lot. I think sometimes

0:28.5

this idea gets sugarcoded and minimized as something that should be and could be done

0:33.5

in a matter of moments, but letting go is really a lifelong process. To let go means to

0:40.2

be in the here and now, relinquishing any control of what happens next. So what are we holding

0:48.2

on to when we're afraid of letting go? I was reading this story about a man who thought

0:54.3

his life had no meaning. He couldn't find the way to get out of this feeling. Then,

1:00.2

one day, he met with his end teacher and he asked the teacher for advice on how to gain

of his faith and confidence in the teacher, he would do it. When the man got to the end

1:34.0

of the path, the teacher asked him how he felt. The man shook his head and said, the basket

1:39.9

is getting heavier and heavier. I almost can't lift it. The teacher smiled happily.

1:45.2

Do you know why your heart isn't able to be happy? Because you're carrying too many

1:50.0

things. Then the teacher took a stone out of the basket one at a time. He said, this stone

1:56.6

is having power and he threw it into the river. This stone is wealth and he threw it into

2:02.7

the river. This stone is our anxieties. This stone is loneliness. This stone is thinking

2:09.9

and worrying about the past and future. He threw it in the river.

2:15.6

The man picked up the basket once more and it felt light and easy to lift. And suddenly,

2:21.5

mindfulness arose. If one is just able to put down the stones, then happiness will
