Hi, it's Andy here and welcome to Radio Headspace and to Wednesday morning.

Actually, between you and me, in full transparency, so she choose day after noon and I'm recording

this ahead of Wednesday morning.

A thing with a podcast that goes out in lots of different countries around the world is

that you kind of have to record it earlier in order to get it out in time in other places.

And more often than not, that doesn't make much of a difference.

But today, of course, is election day.

Well, when you wake up tomorrow, it will be the day after.

And the truth is none of us know what we're going to be waking up to tomorrow morning.

So there's an interesting thing after so much time and energy, perhaps anxiety and frustration

and everything else that's led up to this point.

I don't know about you, but today, on election day itself, there's been almost like an eerie

choir.

And my guess is, does this probably still going to be a little bit of that today for you

when you wake up?

And there's something interesting in that, I think, very often around sort of big events.

Before and after, there's a lot going on, but there's a moment of stillness.

And it reminds me, often when we're talking about sort of mindfulness and training the mind,

there's this idea of finding almost a calm in the middle of the storm.

I was that quiet place where you can kind of witness all the noise and sometimes confusion,

maybe even destruction around us and yet not necessarily get swept away by it.

And the analogy that I always like was less about sort of being in the middle of that
