So instead today's episode is an old interview with Alexander Gallas on his book, The Thatcher Right Offensive, that we recorded six years ago.

PTO has now been going for more than seven years, and some of the earlier episodes, unfortunately, have truly abysmal audio quality because of the podcasting technology of the time.

But thanks to the wonders of audio editing software in 2025, it's been possible to quite significantly improve the sound quality of those episodes.

And so in the coming months, there will be a few episodes from the archives appearing, just in cases where episodes were not particularly related to events in the news cycle, and where the sound quality was especially poor.

So in the following interview with Alexander Gallas,

we talked about the extent of popular support for the Thatcherite project

and about the debates of the 1980s between Stuart Hall and Bob Jessup

regarding how to characterize Thatcherite hegemony.

We also, in the interview, touched on the New Labor era

and how it consolidated the neoliberal revolution.

Alexander Gallas is an assistant professor

in the Department of Political Science

at the University of Castle,

and he's one of the editors of the Global Labor Journal.

He's the author of The Thatcherite Offensive,

a Neo-Pulanzasian analysis.
