I think the bourgeois state and its political servants have for some time now being trying to get a bit of the glamour of fascism,

the glamour of its cruelty, of its toughness, of its irrational attachment to symbols and so on.

I mean, it's purely cynical, it's opportunistic, they don't really care about all this stuff,

but there's a kind of deliberate dressing up in the regalia and the attitudes of fascism as they, in their lithe and cynical way, pay of the way for an actual fascist kind of administration.
