Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast.

We are your host, Kristen Walker-Smith and Callie Black.

0:09.0

Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Moses chapter 5, verse 31.

0:15.5

Secret combinations are mentioned all throughout scripture as a major tactic that Satan uses to draw people in.

0:22.2

Have you ever noticed that? I've always wondered what these secret oaths and combinations are

0:28.1

really about, since they seem to have been so effective at separating people from the Lord.

0:34.4

Kane, the first person to commit murder, perfectly summarizes the gist of all of these

1:25.2

a little bit will bring so much more joy. But here's the

1:29.2

real secret. It's not true. Satan has not discovered some secret loophole for gain, and we can

1:36.5

push back on any temptations that we feel that tell us otherwise. So the takeaway of the day,

1:42.5

in five words or less, sin will never bring gain.

1:47.7

Thank you so much for being here today and for coming closer to Christ with me, one minute at a time.

1:54.6

Feeling a little nervous about how to make the Old Testament work and actually understand what's going on each week?

2:00.7

I've gotcha. In my

2:01.9

big picture little picture study guides every single week, I break it down for you in the simplest

2:06.4

way possible. I give you the story. I give you the background details that weave everything together.
