Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Genesis 3 versus 7 and 21.

So my family has a great video of my then two-year-old jumping around in a pile of fall leaves.

It was the first day when he played with them and they were all fresh and soft, but then by the

next day they had dried up and they made this terrific crunching sound. Now imagine for a second

sewing together some of those dried leaves and wearing them for your underclothing.

It sounds miserable.

When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and realized they were naked,

they decided to try to hide it from God, quote,

and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.

While the leaves would have been comfortable and soft for about a day, the next and the next after would have been miserable.

When God saw what Adam and Eve had done and the uncomfortable aprons they'd fashioned, he made something better for them.

Quote, unto Adam also and to his wife, did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them.

God replaced their itchy, uncomfortable aprons that would probably fall apart in days with something better, longer

lasting, and stronger. Like Adam and Eve, when we hide our sins, we form an uncomfortable

apron of excuses for ourselves. We pretend we're not miserable, but we're not

fooling anyone. Blessedly, though, when we humbly come to God and admit what we've done,

he provides us with something better, the peaceful covering of Jesus Christ's atonement.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, is let Christ cover you.
