| 0:00.0 | Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast. |
| 0:05.0 | We are your host, Kristen Walker-Smith and Kelly Black. |
| 0:09.6 | Hey friend, it's Kristen. |
| 0:11.5 | Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Genesis 3 versus 7 and 21. |
| 0:16.4 | So my family has a great video of my then two-year-old jumping around in a pile of fall leaves. |
| 0:22.9 | It was the first day when he played with them and they were all fresh and soft, but then by the |
| 0:27.0 | next day they had dried up and they made this terrific crunching sound. Now imagine for a second |
| 0:33.3 | sewing together some of those dried leaves and wearing them for your underclothing. |
| 0:39.7 | It sounds miserable. |
| 0:43.7 | When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and realized they were naked, |
| 0:46.2 | they decided to try to hide it from God, quote, |
| 0:50.0 | and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons. |
| 0:54.0 | While the leaves would have been comfortable and soft for about a day, the next and the next after would have been miserable. |
| 0:58.5 | When God saw what Adam and Eve had done and the uncomfortable aprons they'd fashioned, he made something better for them. |
| 1:05.2 | Quote, unto Adam also and to his wife, did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them. |
| 1:12.6 | God replaced their itchy, uncomfortable aprons that would probably fall apart in days with something better, longer |
| 1:18.5 | lasting, and stronger. Like Adam and Eve, when we hide our sins, we form an uncomfortable |
| 1:23.9 | apron of excuses for ourselves. We pretend we're not miserable, but we're not |
| 1:29.1 | fooling anyone. Blessedly, though, when we humbly come to God and admit what we've done, |
| 1:35.0 | he provides us with something better, the peaceful covering of Jesus Christ's atonement. |
| 1:40.5 | So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, is let Christ cover you. |
| 1:45.9 | Thanks so much for being here today and for coming closer to Christ with me one minute at a time. |
