Welcome to the Judge John Hodgman podcast. I'm Bale of Jesse Thorn. This week we're

0:09.8

in Chambers clearing the docket. Hello, Judge Hodgman. Why high Jesse, how are you?

0:15.2

You know, we get a lot more cases than we could ever possibly adjudicate in the course

0:20.2

of a single episode. That's true. Or see, I guess, a series of single episodes. Or my

0:26.8

explanation of this is really poor. But the moral of the story is sometimes we have to do one

0:31.4

episode where we decide a bunch of cases. That's a clearing the docket episode. Does that make sense?

0:36.9

Absolutely. There are issues where maybe a president has already been set or the decision is so clear

0:44.0

cut and the opportunity for me to be brutal and harsh is so delicious. And yet I don't want to

0:51.0

have to say it to someone's face. So we settle it behind their backs. Yeah. Well, let's kick things

0:56.0

off with something from Lewis. My mother is your terrible. No, no, we haven't ever heard the

1:02.1

Judge Hodgman. Is it not appropriate for me to prejudge? No. All right. I always Lewis have to say

1:09.2

my mother bought me a portable battery charger earlier this year, which works very well for

1:13.8

charging my phone. However, it does not have enough power to charge my portable handheld gaming

1:19.4

device. My mother recently bought a new charger for herself, which does have adequate power to

1:26.1

charge a gaming device. I proposed that we trade chargers. She doesn't need the extra juice from

1:31.8

the supercharger. I do. But she doesn't want to cheat. She doesn't want to trade. She believes

1:37.5

that because she bought it, she deserves to keep it. What do you say, Judge Hodgman? See, I told you,

1:43.4

I was right. He was terrible. I didn't need to hear this thing. I'm going to presume, I'm going to

1:49.4

give everyone the benefit of the doubt here and presume that Lewis is a child because his mommy is

1:55.6

buying him chargers for his phone and for his gaming console. And presumably also to go underneath

2:02.7

his dining plates. You don't eat without chargers that hear a home do you? Wow. Wow.

2:10.8

I have to walk out of the room for a second and just process that. That was amazing. Thank you.
