When a new season arrives, many of us make bold resolutions to upgrade our lifestyle, Maybe it's getting more exercise or

getting better sleep. Perhaps we're intent on changing our diet. These are

worthy pursuits, but sometimes what we really need is the biblical prescription.

It was Jesus who said,

Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall cites this promise

from Jesus in Matthew Chapter 11 and other New Testament passages. Chuck

titled his message,, resting in Christ.

Come to me. The me is capitalized, obviously referring to Jesus. Come, somehow, in some way it's connected directly with the person of Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus, the Lord Christ.

Come to me. What can be said of him? Well, if I read this section correctly,

verses 25 through 27 present him in a whole new light. No one understands the father like he does. No one understands him like the father.

There is knowledge, there is power, there is a sense of authority in the person of Jesus, having reveal that Matthew then says and I want to

record here under the spirit's direction Jesus invitation come to him who is all powerful, all knowledge, able to handle whatever.

Okay? Who is invited to take this journey?

Look at the fourth word in the sentence,

all.

All who know the Lord Jesus Christ,

every one of us. All who are weary, stop there. The term is used in the original

language to refer to those who are struggling as they are becoming

weary of a search. They are struggling to find the truth, struggling to find a way to go on.

He says you are weary. One fine translator renders this all who are exhausted.
