Jesus is talking to us, not someone else living in our neighborhood. He's talking to all who are heavy, exhausted,

overworked, overextended, and he says, I will give you rest. Whether you're a person of little means or someone who's remarkably blessed with success,

none of us escapes the relentless pressures of life.

Stress over decisions, managing expectations,

never really knowing what unwanted surprises may be right around the corner.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck Windahl continues his biographical

series on Jesus, the greatest life of all. He's teaching from the Book of Matthew, where we're

reminded that Jesus calls us to rest in here.

If you missed any portion of yesterday's program, we'll begin with helpful highlights.

But first, we begin with prayer.

Quiet our hearts, our father, and in doing so remind us that you are sovereign, not almost sovereign, but altogether.

That nothing occurs in our lives that has not been wonderfully planned and put together

by you, our eternal God. Help us to enter personally in a consistent basis into the truth of what we have read, that we cease striving

and discover that you are God, that we cast our cares upon you, knowing you care for us,

that there is nothing that touches us that has not first been passed through the hands of our loving and caring Heavenly Father.

We pray that our response will not be like those in Jeremiah's day, but that

we will walk in it, that we will accept your plan, and we will deliberately lean on the everlasting arms.

Our father out of hearts of gratitude, we acknowledge that whatever we have has come from you,

you own it all.

Grateful for good health, for our occupation, that the ministry might be sustained, and that the name of our

God may be upheld.

In the great name of Jesus, our Savior who gives us his rest.
