It was Jesus Christ who said, come to me all who are

it was Jesus Christ who said,

Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden,

and I will give you rest.

That amazing statement, facing the cross,

facing the demands of people, facing the criticism of the Pharisees and the sadusies and all of the people who misread and misunderstood him,

he says, I offer you rest.

My yolkacies in my loads like.

Most religious traditions carry a measure of striving with them.

The tenets of their belief system are designed to push their followers toward a higher place.

The result is a lot of chasing after perfection and the outcome is discouraging.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck Windahl reminds us that Jesus offered and demonstrated

a life that's far different.

He's teaching from the book of Matthew, and his message is perfectly suited for this time of

year when we need to be careful about making resolutions that are impossible to achieve.

Chuck Tidal today's message, Resting in Christ. Let's look over at 1st Peter Chapter 5. We sort of work our way back. I'm left-handed so it seems natural to me to work from, you know, backwards.

So we're going to go First Peter and then Philippians and then a section out of the Old Testament. 1st Peter 5, verse 6.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you at the proper time,

casting all your Be of sober spirit, be on the alert, your adversary the devil prowls about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour, but resist him.

Firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

And then back to Philippians, chapter 4.
