I had this mirror that I got off like Amazon or maybe at Walmart that was really cheap and I used it for a while but I couldn't see myself in it very well.

It was like a smaller mirror to like shave with shaved my beard and. And I just kept using it.

It was very foggy, very dim.

And then eventually it got so dim

that I can barely make out my face.

And then I realized that I didn't unwrap it. There's like this film layer on the

cover of the mirror, protective screen that I peeled off and I was like, oh, that's what I look like.

And Paul says something very similar in 1st Corinthians 1312.

He says, we see right now in a mirror dimly, but one day we're going to be able to see

face to face. We'll be able to know God fully just as he knows us fully. What he

means by that is back then antique mirrors in the first

century were made of bronze or maybe metal that was polished, very dim, very hard

to make out what you really looked like and you might be saying well if that's true then how would Paul even know that what he's looking at is not really what he looks like well a better way of seeing yourself is actually

water looking into a reflection of water especially if it's a dark pool of water you can

really see you know you know a better picture of what you look like but you don't always have a you know water still

water in your house or you know around and so they used metal back then and then eventually

they started blowing glass and using glass to make mirrors.

That's the kind of mirrors that we have today. But Paul was saying the way that we see God,

the way that we live spiritually is through a dim reflection of who God is.

But one day we're going to be able to see Him face to face.
