Well, welcome to House Church. My name is Alex Wilson. Thank you for being here.

We are going through a series in Ecclesiastes, and we're looking at verse four this week.

Ecclesiastes chapter three, verse four. When I was in college, before I met Lockelawny, my great aunt died.

She was like a grandma to me.

We were really, really close.

And I remember driving to her memorial service.

And I broke down in the car, just broke down, got really emotional.

And then I looked at my gas gauge and realized I needed gas.

And so I tried to pull myself together.

And then I pulled over the car, got gas.

And I just remember pumping gas, feeling like I was going to explode.

And it's not a good feeling to have when you're next to a gas pump.

But finished gas, got back in my truck, drove.

And as soon as I got back in my car, I just broke down.

And it's because this is probably the most deepest death that I've ever felt at the time as a sophomore in college, junior in college.

I remember the feeling because I felt like I was completely out of control of my emotions.

And I felt like even as a young believer at the time, I wasn't surrendered

to God. And I knew that God could definitely give me the power to control my emotions, but I had not

experienced that yet. And so tonight, what I want to talk to you about is how to control your

emotions, how to be a stable person, what it looks like to

experience the freedom in Christ that we have, knowing that everything's going to be okay,

knowing that Jesus is alive, knowing that death is defeated, our main enemy, sin is defeated.
