Welcome to Our Hen House. This is Mary Ann Sullivan. And this is Jasmine Singer. And this

0:13.8

week, Jasmine, we'll be talking with Kathy Stevens, who is the executive director of Catskill

0:18.8

Animal Sanctuary. And they are going to be talking about this hugely important topic

0:23.4

that I didn't even know was a thing.

0:26.0

And that is the impact of climate change on some animal sanctuaries.

0:30.6

And in particular, of course, the very drastic changes

0:33.3

that are taking place at Catskill largely because of climate change.

0:36.9

Yeah.

0:37.3

Wow.

0:38.0

1:11.8

sanctuary and just this topic of the problem of where to find ground. And I found this

1:18.7

interview to be very inspiring and informative. So I'm looking forward to sharing it with everybody.

1:25.3

All right. Well, I want to ask you a lot of questions because you probably discussed them in the interview, but I'm really intrigued. I'm wondering, like, what is it? You had one other interview with a pig sanctuary. I don't know whether they moved because of climate, but they also moved all of their animals across country. Yeah, and I have to tell you, that was odd man in, by the way. I have to tell you,

1:45.6

I do bring this up in my chat with Kathy, but like a few years ago, I moved from L.A. to New York

1:52.0

in a rented RV with four animals, and they're all like... So you kind of moved your sanctuary,

1:57.5

for climate reasons? For climate reasons, but they're all like under 15 pounds. And it was so hard.
