Summary

This year has had some amazing things come to fruition, but it was also hard in some ways. too. When you are the one in your family or circle breaking generational cycles, or if you are blooming into some life changes right now, it's easy for our minds to feel like it's always going to stay hard or that you will struggle forever. Choosing peace as I'm talking about in this episode isn't about bypassing your feelings or pretending that everything is cool. Instead it's deciding that you are doing the best you can and that it is ok to lay claim to peace instead of chaos.

I wanted to share a quick insight from the book 'The Four Pivots' by Shawn A. Ginwright, PhD. Specifically I'm highlighting a powerful quote from the book: 'I choose peace of mind instead of this.' It brought me so much clarity as I continue working through some challenges that my hope is that it's a powerful affirmation for you as well.

Something hit my spirit, so I wanted to share it with you. So I am listening

0:57.8

to a book on Audible. Let me get to it real quick. It's called The Four Pivots. Reimagining Justice,

1:06.7

reimagining ourselves is by author Sean Jen Wright or Sean A. Gen Wright, PhD.

1:13.9

And yeah, it is about social justice, but what so far, I'm only like on chapter two or almost

1:20.6

a chapter two. But really this book, it is about social justice, but from what I understand,

1:26.3

he's talking about it through this perspective of, you know, obviously social change, but it starts with healing ourselves.

1:34.3

We have to like hold the mirror up to ourselves and just be more self-aware in regards to what areas or what parts of us require healing or change.

1:42.5

And it's going to just have this profound trickle effect

1:44.7

just in the world and with social justice and things like that.

1:50.4

Even if you don't feel like you are a quote-unquote advocate,

1:53.4

I honestly would recommend you still pick up this book.

1:55.9

I really, really do because first of all,

1:57.8

first of all, I would love to interview Sean.

2:00.0

I would love to interview Sean. I would love to interview

2:01.5

Sean because this book has had me cackling in a few times at least because just the way that he

2:08.7

says some things. This is not a stuffy book. It's just not a stuffy book at all. Like there's a part

2:14.4

where he's like, he'll say something like, what the hell? Like,
