My guest today is Congressman Jake Laterner, a 36-year-old Republican from Kansas.

Laterner first joined Congress not that long ago, 2021.

But in April of this year he announced he would not seek a third term,

telling his constituents, quote,

Congress has taken a toll.

So we thought this would be a great time

for an exit interview.

Congressman, welcome to the Toddcast. Thank you for having me. I'm a say my first job paying job in politics was in

January of 2009. I started working for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins who had the job

that I have now.

And I was a dedicated watcher of Morning Joe,
