We’re kicking off Season 7 with a topic I’ve not yet discussed on the show: Holy Ideas. Holy Ideas remind us of the powerful spiritual roots of the Enneagram. They are great, universal, spiritual truths that we forgot or lost touch with, as the ego created an overlay of personality. It’s a challenging concept, but today’s guest, renowned Enneagram teacher Renée Rosario walks us through the Holy Ideas for each type and reminds us to “relax with awareness into this idea that there is a power greater than us, that is actually taking care of all the things we think we have to take care of in our type.”

Renée Rosario is a Core Faculty member of The Narrative Enneagram and a transpersonal, body-centered psychotherapist in Boulder, CO. She has facilitated workshops and classes for over 20 years and loves to work in the Narrative Tradition where all are students and teachers of one another. Renée has been a mindfulness instructor at Naropa University and a peacemaker trained in contemplative social action through the Peacemaker Institute.

0:10.2	Renee Rosario. Renee is part of the core faculty at the Narrative Enneagram, the school
0:18.0	that one of the grand-doms of the Enneagram, Helen Palmer, began. I have sat underneath
0:25.2	Renee's teaching before and though we haven't seen each other in about, I mean, actually the
0:32.1	last time we saw each other was four days before lockdown. Right. Right. Yeah. We were at a class
0:40.4	together. Wasn't Cal, no, we weren't in California because we drove. I can't remember where it was,
0:44.7	but anyway, we were there and the news was just breaking. And remember a couple of people left in
0:49.6	the middle of the workshop to head home. That was time process. I believe in you were in Ohio,
0:56.2	right? Yes. Crazy. When you were doing the introduction, I was thinking,
1:02.8	we have to come up with some kind of different music for legendary status.
1:08.0	That's right. Legend status. Great, great, we're now teacher Renee Rosario is on the show and we are,
1:15.6	we are so, so thrilled. Now, you know, Renee, you've been working with the Enneagram for a long time.
1:22.8	So you have a great depth of knowledge, but I want to go back to when it all began and what that
1:30.7	was like. And I'm sure there are similarities to everybody's experience, but you know, you discovered
1:35.9	you were in Enneagram too and you had this moment of epiphany, right? Oh my goodness. I remember it
1:43.4	so clearly, actually, and I will tell this, you know, thing that a friend of mine copied Helen Palmer's
1:49.8	cassette tapes back then. This is 1995. And so, you know, her cassette tapes had description of the type
1:57.3	and then she would interview somebody. And I can remember, I believe I was sitting in my car
2:02.0	in a parking lot seriously. And I was like, and I heard the description of the two and her
2:07.8	interviewing somebody and I was blown away. I was like, certainly, somebody's been following me
2:12.5	around, right? Because I was in therapy in my early 20s and I spent a year and a half saying,
2:18.6	all I do is take care of people and nobody appreciates me and blah, blah, blah took me a year and a
