Chapter 3, verse 27. When I first entered Relief Society as an 18-year-old girl, I was shocked at how many things there were to sign up for.

Binders were regularly passed around, filled with sheets for taking meals, bringing a treat to the next

activity, and asking for donations for hygiene kits. I felt like I was too young

to contribute, but I would watch certain women in my ward who would always sign up for everything.

And I thought, man, I want to be like them someday.

Before the world was, when God the Father asked who he should send to create the earth and help fulfill his purpose, our brother Jesus Christ responded.

His answer is recorded in Abraham chapter 3 verse 27,

Here am I, send me.

He volunteered.

And he volunteered with sincere enthusiasm.

I'm sure that Jesus today would be the person writing his name sincerely on every sign-up sheet passed around in a church meeting.

Now, I have some mortal limits to what I can contribute, but over the years I have tried to practice this as much as I can.

In prayer, in thought, and in deed, I try to use my agency for good by telling the Lord,

here I am, I'm ready to serve, send me.
