Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Moses chapter 1, verse 37.

So the first time I read the Old Testament all the way through, I was concerned.

There were entire groups of people who had been consumed in a massive fireball. There was a woman who'd been turned into a pillar of

salt simply for looking back. And a man who tried to help an important religious relic not fall

over was killed on the spot. Like, why was God so harsh? Had I misunderstood him entirely?

Well, no. While the God of the Old Testament, which is Jesus Christ, might seem angry and harsh,

the pearl of great price gives us beautiful insight into why he does what he does. As Moses stood on a mountain talking face to face with the

Lord, the Lord said, quote, the heavens they are many, and they cannot be numbered unto man,

but they are numbered unto me, for they are mine. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ watch over

and care for a numberless amount of spirit children. And as they do so,

their entire purpose is to help those children become like them so they can have all the father

and son have. I love this reminder that while the God we see in the Old Testament might seem

harsh at times, his purposes are abundantly clear. Everything he does is for our eternal good.
