This is Episode 1555. Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. How are you doing today?

If you've been listening for a while, you are exploring ancient wisdom for your modern

0:19.0

life. That is the theme we've been exploring this entire week. In every episode, you've

0:29.8

discovered some of the rich traditions of meditation and learned how to use it in a way that

0:38.9

will work in your modern life. I'm Mary Mechley and I share a different meditation technique

0:46.2

every day on the podcast and each technique is customized around a weekly theme. This

0:53.6

allows you to explore a topic in depth so that you can master the quality. And in today's

1:02.0

episode, I'm going to share with you a classic meditation technique. This is a technique that you

thumb with your index finger. This is the classic way to hold your hands for many people in meditation.

2:18.7

So you may have soon realized after you started meditating that you meditate and sometimes things go

2:29.0

beautifully. But other times you're interrupted, your children may crawl all over you or you are so

2:38.6

distracted, you can't get the argument out of your mind that you had with someone earlier in the

2:44.7

day or you're just feeling really restless like you don't really have time to meditate. Whatever the

2:53.3

case may be, if you've been meditating for a while, you've been through the ups and the downs of

3:00.4

meditation. And if your brand new, I want you to know that you have an amazing journey ahead of you. And to

3:09.7

keep in mind that just like your day to day life differs depending on what's happening that day, what
