Now you might have been wondering if you've been meditating for a while

and not really explored chakras before you might be wondering what are they all about.

And so I'm going to share with you a little bit about the history and how they even came about.

And then I'm going to briefly guide you through how you could use chakras in your own meditation ritual.

So you don't have to do anything elaborate. You can simply focus on a particular chakra

that you might want a little extra support in that area. So what are these chakras?

The ancient yogis believed that just as we have a physical spine to support our body,

we have bones that help to hold up our structure. And various organs that perform all different

kinds of functions to keep us going, to keep us living, lungs to help us breathe, the heart to pump

blood throughout our system. All these different organs. Well the yogis felt that we must have some

way to think about how we process our emotions and our memories and where those different centers,

the main emotional centers, where they might reside in your body. So chakras are considered to be

different energy points within your subtle body. It's not anything physical existing in your body.

Many people agree there are seven chakras. Now chakras are very popular and an important part of

Hinduism and Buddhism. These two ancient spiritual traditions. And the word chakra comes from

Sanskrit and it means a wheel or a circle or even if you could think of chakras as being a cycle
