1:22.0	Well, I lived in the same foster home, unlicensed, that is, that my biological mother had lived in. And I knew early on that we weren't a fit.
1:29.1	And the day of reckoning came when I made in my very young girl's mind a pack with God that should I be mistreated again, beaten, humiliated, starved, that that in fact would be a sign from God
1:49.5	that it was time for me to go. And that day came and I left because I saw it as a sign that it would
2:00.4	just be more of the same to come always. And I left. And that leaving,
2:07.1	that particular leaving set forth a trajectory that would in many ways define the rest of my life.
2:16.3	That is so brave of you to do that. Did you feel like you made the rest of my life. That is so brave of you to do that.
2:19.2	Did you feel like you made the right choice as you were going through all of these homes?
2:25.4	And while you were doing that, what did you think of the foster care system?
2:30.4	Well, I knew that one thing was certain, and that is no matter how many homes I went through, they were not allowed to put their hands on me.
