Hi, my name is John Kim. I'm a therapist who went through his own

rebirth many years ago and I've been documenting my journey ever since sharing my life

lessons and revelations. I believe in casual or clinical with you instead of at you. I come unrehearsed on purpose

because self-help doesn't have to be so complicated. I've been thinking a lot about this idea of life's work and I think just naturally

because I'm getting older and being reflective. I wanted to offer you a new definition.

So instead of life's work being the collection of work that you do in your life.

I don't know if that's how Webster's defines life's work, but also what the fuck is Webster's these days?

Does Webster's dictionary even hold up? I mean, with Google and AI, I mean with Google and AI I mean are people even going to Webster's is

Webster still a thing anyway anyway, so yeah, I think according to Webster or the internet, life's work is about the all the work that you've done in your life

that the collection, right?

And so if you're a writer, then obviously all your books, poems, whatever you write.

If you're a filmmaker, all your movies, okay you get it. I I like to see life's work as work that emerges that manifests from life.

And the reason why I like this definition,

let me give you some examples.

So in my life my blog, the angry therapist on Tumblr, was a direct

manifestation of my divorce, right? It was me documenting, but also it was because I was divorced and had a lot of time

on my hands and going through heartbreak and

rebirth that I started that blog. I would have never started a blog. I mean I don't even

know what I would have wrote about right, but it was because of that divorce that became the catalyst for me to

express myself through a blog. And so whether that blog was popular or not, it doesn't matter.

I still file that as life's work because it

took life for that work to happen now the reason why I love this
