Afghanistan is facing an unprecedented hunger crisis and the country's children are the biggest

casualties. 3.2 million children under the age of 5 are malnourished. Aid cuts and the Taliban's policies,

specifically those restricting the activities of women, have resulted in a

significant drop in funding to public health care and community nutrition

programs.

The BBC has found that the direct impact is a rapid rise in child mortality.
