When you say you're a mid-Westerner,

it really means something here in the states.

That genuine ethic, and you've been raised with it,

you've been raised to work hard, you're not given anything,

and I think that means a lot. Germany says it's introducing strict new controls at all its land borders to combat

illegal migration and counter the threat of Islamist extremism.

The country's interior minister Nancy Ferza said the measures would come into force next

week.

She announced the move at a news conference in Berlin.

This will further limit irregular migration and protect against the acute dangers posed

by Islamist terror and serious crime. We are doing everything in order to better
