It's Monday, May 4th. May the 4th be with you. The last witness that the state put on the stand was a pediatric psychologist,

and she says it's important to understand how someone with a diagnosis functions in real life.

She met with Tanner for 12 hours at the jail, also met with his mom, his grandmother, his brother,

some friends of his, his aunt, his special ed teacher in school, and the mother

of his child. The bottom line, she blames his childhood instability for a lot of the problems he has,

but she also acknowledges none of the conditions he's been diagnosed with is an excuse for

killing Athena, so not sure how she helped the defense, and then they rested.

The next witness was with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

He basically explained what life would be like if Tanner gets life in prison versus the

death penalty.

Death penalty, he's going to be in solitary confinement, very controlled movements,

and his contact with other inmates pretty much non-existent.

The next witness was a surprise witness for the state on rebuttal, Tanner's cousin.

He said Tanner assaulted him sexually twice when he was around 10 and Tanner was 13.

The second time happened in 2007 when he was 12 or 13. He said the defense would not get him

in touch with the prosecution, so he posted about this on Facebook, and then he was reached out to.

He also said Tanner would beat him and Tanner's brother up. Later on in 2008 or 2009, he heard Tanner say, he wondered what it would be like to

kill someone, and he said that memory was triggered when he killed someone, and that was Athena.

He did admit in 2015, he was arrested and convicted for solicitation of prostitution. However,
