Greetings, my name is Kaisanga and I welcome you this Friday to Radio Headspace.

A huge part of why we do what we do here at Headspace is to spread health and happiness to the people of the world.

To the humans of the world, with an emphasis on the human, because that's what we are right, we are all human.

So I say that to say this, often times when we've been practicing for a prolonged period of time,

we expect everything to always be fine, to always be okay.

But that's not the case, we're still human beings and we will still experience strong emotions.

In fact, we will experience strong emotions forever.

In fact, let's say that together right now, I am a human being and I will experience strong emotions forever.

Meditation helps us recognize these emotions and then processing them in a mindful way.

Essentially shifting from a space of reacting and more into a space of responding.

Shifting into a space of responding makes it more likely that we will make more wise and appropriate choices.

I distinctly remember an incident about six or seven years ago when I went back to New York City for my high school reunion and my practice was put to the test.

Even though I went to school in Harlem, the reunion was held at a lounge spot in Brooklyn.

And it was really a magnificent evening.
