today by one of our first repeat visitors to the podcast, which we only do for very, very

special people and that person is Ray Cronice who was

with us a few months ago and did a really interesting episode about nutrition in

general and it was a very very long call. There was a lot of detail, but we kind of covered a lot of areas too.

Anyway, Ray, thank you for being on here. We're going to talk about your paper and I am excited to get into this

stuff again it's always always informative to talk to you. Thanks Matt it's great to be

here with you today. All right so the new paper just published recently it's

called the metabolic winter hypothesis a

cause of the current epidemics of obesity and cardiometabolic disease published in

the journal of metabolic syndrome and related disorders.

So this is, that's a mouthful and people who don't know much about you are going to say,

what the heck is metabolic winter?

So I guess I should give you the intro that I gave you before, which was, most people who will

know you will do so from your appearance in Tim Ferris' four-hour body, at least in this audience, where you talked about the,

the example in there was what kind of led into Tim's discussion of using cold, like ice packs and cold temperatures and things like that for the purpose of losing fat.

You've also were a NASA scientist before that and I'm blanking on the name of the company but the one where the Sports Illustrated girls in the recent swimsuit issue were were
