So I thought he was going to, I thought there was a hearing on September 3rd. I can't tell you how often. Of course, if you listen to this podcast, you knew that wasn't necessarily going to be the case because when that news came out, I immediately did a podcast where I said, hey, that's the headline. But the NFL and Rice, they could reach an agreement before then and then the suspension was started at the beginning of the season. That is exactly what happened. So, I mean, there's a cautionary tale here first and foremost, and the cautionary tale is simple. Don't just read the headlines. You know, if you're reading the headline or you're only reading the first sentence of the rhodo world blurb or whatever it is, you are not getting the whole story. And unfortunately, I know this is symptomatic of the society we live in right now where people are just quickly looking, scanning Twitter for information and then thinking, you know, the whole story. It was there all along. The story was clear. Yes, that was a hearing if they could not reach an agreement. Because ultimately, here's what I suspect was happening behind the scenes. The NFL was saying

maybe they said 10 games at first, but at least eight games, right? And Rice's camp was saying,

no, two games, you know, something along those lines. Classic negotiations. But Rice, his case here

was helped by the fact that the legal ramifications weren't as significant as we

initially thought. I mean, it looked pretty bad. There were a lot of felony counts there and it ended up

not being that bad. I mean, yes, he does have a very brief jail sentence. It's a 30-day

sentence and that can be completed anytime over five years. So it's not really that bad. So I'm sure
