Summary

Randy Cooling, owner of Safari Tuff, joins the podcast to discuss his recent hunts, how he packs for international hunts, and his hunting prospects in 2021. Randy CoolingI’ve spent a good part of my life traveling with a bow, and often with a bow case, that was less than ideal. To solve this problem, I set out to design a traditional bow case that incorporated all of the features that I have found to be vital when traveling with my bow. Safari Tuff cases are built to offer absolute protection in the harshest conditions. KifaruBecome a Patron!

Welcome to CafferooCast everyone. It's 8.45 Mountain Standard time and I am on the mic with my good friend Randy Cooling with Safari Tuff. What's up in the great state of Michigan?

0:11.8

Oh hi Aaron. I woke up to 90s at snow this morning and I'm so tired of it already. I don't know. It's cold at 6 degrees and I was ready for summer or a month ago.

0:24.3

I bet. You recently retired. How's the retirement life?

0:29.6

I'm loving it. I don't even think about my old elevator job. Apparently, for 42 years, it makes you bitter enough or something that...

0:39.2

What do you quit? It's a new life. It's great. I was worried. It was hard to do it but just finally pulled the plug and everybody that I talked to that retired told me they never ever regretted it.

0:56.7

They were right. It's good advice. You did elevators. I had you on the podcast once before which turned into more talking about construction than archery.

1:08.1

You worked for... You said 40 years. You were working on elevators? Yeah, 42 years.

1:13.7

Yes. From getting out of high school till now.

1:18.3

It shows the age difference because I'm only 44 so there you go. You're focusing more on Safari Tough. Now, I actually wanted you before we forget. Let everybody know what you offer, what Safari Tough is and a little bit about yourself for those that didn't listen to the first one.

1:37.0

Yeah, I purchased Safari Tough from Rod Jenkins about a year and a half ago and I did it thinking I was going to retire and give me something more to do and maybe a little extra money to keep going on some hunts.

1:55.1

I have a very, very bad hunting habit and as everybody knows it can cost quite a bit to do it. So I did it and it's been good. It's given me a lot to do.

2:09.0

My wife is really glad I did it. She's afraid I was going to just sit around the house and spend money and not with nothing to do but.

2:17.2

No, it's working out well. I make a vocage back quiver. The back quiver is really unique. There's nothing other really made like it that I know of.

2:31.1

It's got a lightweight solid sheet around it and the access arrows from the bottom. It has a rain cover on the top and one over the whole word access.

2:42.8

This optional so it really protects your arrows good keep your broad heads from russin because it keeps everything dry keeps the pine needles out and.

2:53.7

If you don't like shooting with a boat quiver or you like using a boat quiver just an arrow or two on it. It's it's it's a great accessory.

3:02.3

My bowl case is real unique I call it the transformer it holds a fully strong bow with a boat quiver full of arrows there's a slot you can unzip and when you travel you can.

3:15.9

Take it take your bow down into three pieces put it in it it folds up there straps it locks together and you can just throw it in your travel duffle between your clothes.

3:28.2

It will hold to take down so if you're needing that I make tabs now also that are really well made by master craftsman.

3:41.1

I'm selling the three rivers traditional only bear bow arrows they're all white they have a great finish and for bear bow shooters and even shooting instinctive the guys are loving them.

3:53.5

I'm selling quite a few of those and they have a great finish on them that it's almost blows like when it's start to get dark and that you can see the arrow really really well.

4:05.4

And I have some other things some other sleeves and stuff like that but those are those are the main items that I have right now.
