Welcome to Radio Headspace and to Thursday.

So recently I signed up for a voice acting class, working with a coach who helps me with

my hosting and presenting roles at Headspace.

Working one of my recent classes, my interest was peaked when my instructor gave the advice

to raise the stakes.

She explained how raising the stakes could help us summon the energy, engagement and passion

that we need to communicate with purpose when we're feeling uninspired.

Raising the stakes means that we remember how our actions, whether it's giving a speech,

practicing a meditation, offering a presentation, whatever it is, can impact people in significant

ways.

So with this in mind, let's talk about raising the stakes in your life, creating more

intention with your actions, and how that could have a bigger than imagined positive ripple

effect in the world.

So why raise the stakes?

Because we believe in the possibility of our actions to uplift folks in ways that we

can't even imagine.

And in turn, this can give us the vital energy that we need to show up and then reconnect

us with the passion and purpose that may have dwindled over time.

I'll never forget this one time I raised the stakes when I had just finished my bachelor's

degree and had started substitute teaching in Los Angeles.
