Thanks so much for joining us today.

We have a really exciting episode prepared,

focusing on the modern era of the Night's Watch,

from Aegons Conquest onwards,

including a walk-through of the Watch in the main story and a look at the wonderful cast of

characters at the wall. We've done an episode on the ancient era of the night's watch so this is the

second installment but if you haven't listened to that one, don't worry as this will stand alone just fine.

And first off here, we'll look at the slow decline of the Night's Watch.

The organization was formed thousands of years ago

to defend the realm from the others, but with no icy demons in sight, they began to lose sight

of their purpose. We'll consider what happened and why as we focus on the Targarian era.

The decline didn't occur in a straight line though, as we'll see when Queen

Al-A-Sann visits the wall and sees life through the eyes of a Knights Watch

recruit. The men of the watch were suitably impressed by her dragon, Silver Wing,

although the dragon refused to fly beyond the wall. Stay tuned for a rundown of Allison's trip.

And after that, we'll talk about the aftermath of the Dance of the Dragons when the Night's Watch were on their knees and left starving.
