Hi, my name is Andy and welcome to Radio Headspace and a Monday morning.

So I wonder what your week is looking like. How much structure you have in your week.

My life's are changing all over the world right now. Some people are still at home full time. Some are back at work and some are in the middle, transitioning from one to the other.

And of course this isn't true just for people in work. It's also true for people in school. There are some parts of the world like here for example.

Where all other schools are still closed. There are many other places where they're already open.

I have a friend I was chatting to a few days back. He'd been thinking, is this a period of time given that schools are going to be closed for a long time.

Is this a really unique moment in time actually where it's possible as a parent to not need to pull the kids out of school but to simply decide as a family.

Shall we do something different. Shall we just give up our place, our rental, to just load up the car and just drive off and just go and explore.

And I think for a lot of people the idea of doing that, I mean it's been around for so long, it's a really attractive proposition. So he sat down and he had the conversation with his son. He said, what do you think?

What would you like to do? And his son said, actually dad, I really want to go back to school.

And there's something really interesting in our need for structure and our desire to be part of a community.

I think prior to the pandemic, most of us probably at some stage thought, oh it'd be really nice to work from home or it'd be nice to have a day at home.

Whereas now most people I speak to, I really want to go back to work or I really want to go back to school or I really want the kids to go back to school.

So we've had this idea I think in our mind that somehow there's something else out there. And if we could just get out there, we would somehow enjoy life more.
