Mormon Leaks released a document of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This document is titled Homosexuality and it is dated back to 1981.

The contents of this document and the attitudes expressed in it and endorsed in this official

publication of the church are, to put it mildly, Primeval.

The release of this document has already started to cause a buzz among the media.

In fact, the website for Newsweek has already published an article on it and more articles will probably be forthcoming

in other media venues.

Now how is it you might ask could a document that is 36 years old cause a public stir among the media and among Mormonism.

Well the first thing has to do with the contents of the document.

I'll be going over the document in a little more detail here presently but in synopsis the document first off says

unequivocally that homosexuality is something that is a choice you are not born

with it it can be changed. It should be changed. It must be changed if a person is going to be exalted in the Celestial Kingdom.

And in fact, it sets forth a method for changing it and how church leaders can help people

who suffer from this problem as it's called in the document and it sets forth methods that

church leaders can use to help people who suffer with this problem of

homosexuality, overcome it, change their ways, become heterosexual, and live happy,
