How are you doing, Philip?

Doing great.

I'm so glad that you may time in your schedule to join us again because the last time we talked with you, we spent three hours going over your experiences as a CES director and also as somewhat of a formal

apologist for the LDS Church and that took us three hours to get through all of that information.

And as a consequence, we were not able to get into something else that I wanted to talk with you about,

which are all the wonderful experiences that you have had with general authorities in the LDS Church.

And I've got to tell the audience right now that the title, The Good, the Bad, and the

ugly, is your description and your title that you gave to these stories.

Can I start out by asking you, why is it that you chose to give it that title?

Well because my, I think it's a legitimate area of exploration because if you deal with senior leadership of an organization, particularly a spiritual organization, you should through them somehow be able to discern and experience the essence of a religion.

And my experience was exactly that.

Much of it was really good, some of it was bad, and some of it was ugly.

Well I want to go over it all tonight because I think it's important for purposes of being

fair and accurate that we talk about good things about

general authorities as well as other things that might not be considered to be so good.

Don't you? I agree. Okay. Well, first off, can you also tell us how is it that you ended up being able to rub shoulders with and have these experiences with general authorities because if you're like most men with at a distance and only heard in public settings like general conference or something else.

It's only rarely that I or pretty much most other members have a chance to actually meet a general authority and then it might just be maybe to

shake hands and be odd by their presence.
