Welcome to the podcast. My name is Douglas Wilson. This is the podcast, not just a podcast. This is the podcast. And this is episode 368. Thank you for joining us. Good to have you. So I want to begin today by talking about the election of Donald Trump and what might be called the outrage farmers.

The election of Donald Trump and the outraged farmers. What has happened is the election of Trump was a massive electoral recoil against the attempted establishment of Wokistan.

Things had just gotten so crazy and so silly and so upside down

that a lot of common grace, common sense, oh, come on, let's not do this.

So there's been a massive vibe shift, and the election of Donald Trump was part of that

massive vibe shift, and it's probably the clearest, clearest manifestation of it. Not only did he get

elected by saying outrageous things on the campaign trail, things that middle of the road or right of center

Republican candidates would never have said before. Not only did he say those

sorts of things, but once he was sworn in, he began immediately to do them. The deportations

began immediately. He ran on securing the border. He declared an

emergency at the border. So he was right out of the gates. And then Doge, Elon Musk's

operation, right out of the gates began revealing all kinds of nonsense about where our money has been going.

And they are promising draconian cuts.

Now, I think we've just taken a few ice cubes off of the top of the iceberg.

So if you're going to go after waste and mismanagement and abuse in the federal government,

I think Doge has got job security for at least two years.

I think they could keep up this pace and not really get to all of it in two years.

However, so what that is is Trump acting on his quote-unquote outrageous promises.

Now, this is this next observation is the thing that I want to point to as a challenge for people who have

been out of power, like sort of on the periphery, some of them for bad reasons, some of them

being on the periphery and they shouldn't be, and some people who are on the periphery and

speaking honestly, they should be on the periphery so during the
