What I want to talk about a little bit coming out of the gate today is a ruckus that recently developed over an account, a Twitter account, from a woman who went by the handle of Patriarchy Hannah.

1:15.0

Patriarchy Hannah. And I'm not going to talk about her. This is just the occasion for talking about something else. I don't know enough about the backstory. I saw her tweets from time to time, but didn't interact with her. I don't know much about it. All I know is that she is not who she pretended to be. The whole presentation of patriarchy, patriarchy Hannah was not as advertised so let's not talk about that let's we'll let whoever's on top of it sort that out and hope that whoever she is

1:21.9

gets good wise pastoral uh counsel and help and and just say a prayer for her and move on. The thing I want to

1:30.6

talk about and what this reveals in high relief is the problem of the anons. What is the

1:40.6

problem with anonymous accounts? Now, I've written on this before, and one of the things

1:47.3

that happens when I've written on it before is that people persist in misunderstanding the point I'm

1:53.5

making. I do not think that having an anonymous account is sinful. It's what you do with your anonymous account. So the book of

2:06.3

Psalms talks about people who shoot at the upright in secret. If you are, if you have an anonymous

2:13.0

account that vilifies, accuses, slanders, and blasphemes, then it is wicked. What you're doing is

2:23.7

wicked. If you have an anonymous account that is making positive, happy contributions, but you are

2:33.7

lying your head off about your qualifications to be making

2:37.8

those contributions, then that too is a problem. Anybody who relies on Anon accounts or who

2:46.4

points to them for credibility is in danger of being let down the way patriarchy Hannah let some people down.

2:56.9

So if you're among the base bros and you say, oh, look at this woman, she's doing this and this and this,

3:03.1

her qualifications to address these issues, those qualifications are supreme. And then you discover

3:10.0

that she doesn't have those qualifications. Or you wouldn't let this person be an elder in your church.

3:18.3

If you had to live next door to them and you knew who they were and you knew the state of their family, you wouldn't

3:25.9

let them anywhere near the decision-making apparatus of your congregation. Well, why do you let them
