0:36.4	In our last class, last week, the theme was cultivating a loving heart.
0:43.5	This week what I'd like to do is explore what I really consider to be the roots of love
0:51.1	and wisdom, which is acceptance.
0:56.2	True acceptance is radical.
0:59.0	It means no resistance to the present moment experience, no controlling.
1:05.4	It's a full allowing of life to be as it is.
1:10.8	It's what the poet Dorothy Hunt calls a heart space where everything that is is welcome.

1:27.3	So when we're having a hard time, you know, when we're fearful, when we're angry, we
1:33.5	might not directly be able to open to compassion to relating with loving presence, but what
1:41.3	is possible, and this is the first step, is to undo our resistance to what's going
1:47.6	on, in other words, to allow to let what's going on just be.
1:54.2	And that's why many of you are familiar with rain, recognize, allow, investigate, and
2:01.3	nurture the practice that leads us to loving presence, to nurturing and loving presence,
2:09.6	is recognizing and allowing its radical acceptance.
