It's a real coincidence. Just happened to be in the same place at the same time on a Wednesday afternoon.

Yeah, I'm very much looking forward to it as well. And it's a very, very big show tonight,

because, of course, as you've probably already heard, austerity is back. That's thanks to

Rachel Reeves' spring statement this afternoon. We'll be going to Gaza to look at the impact

of Israel's genocide in the enclave on children in particular, and we'll have a look at more

of the signal chat capers coming out of the US State Department. Let's go on to our next story.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has given her spring statement to the House of Commons Build. As simply an update on the nation's finances,

the Treasury had already briefed there would be no new taxes, no wealth taxes, no new taxes on the

highest earners, and no new taxes on corporations. That means that we knew going in

there would be cuts unless Reeves decided to revise her famous fiscal rules around borrowing.

That didn't happen, even though the 9.9 billion pounds of fiscal headroom, essentially the spare

cash for tax cuts or spending increases, that she said the rules gave her in October

has all been wiped away. Instead, Reeves took a lesson from the playbook of the last Tory government

and blamed everyone else except herself. Now our task is to secure Britain's future in a world

that is changing before our eyes. The threat facing our continent
