I think you're really going to like this. I think that many times that you guys are asking

us these kinds of questions. This is kind of the science behind why we do and do not make the

decisions that are often in our best interest. Here is part one of our interview with Annie Duke.

So why did you decide you wanted to tackle this topic? Oh gosh. I mean, I think that the main reason

I wanted to tackle the topic is that I think that there's just a misconception about grit,

which is that grit is good, full-stop period. In other words, that if you stick to things and

you persevere, that that is a sign of character. We think about, you know, quitters never win and

winners never quit. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. That's just not so. It's actually

the case that you want to stick to things that are worthwhile and quit everything else. And

that's actually the true road to success. So I just felt like somebody needed to have a conversation

with grit, which was about the other side of the coin that grit is a virtue, but so is quitting

a virtue as well. Why is quitting get such a bad rap, do you think? Well, I think there's a
