It is Friday, November 11th.

And we are here taking the mystery out of your financial life.

And wow, what a day yesterday.

So, okay, let me just take a deep breath.

We got an inflation report out and the trend is moving in the right direction.

The CPI was up 7.7% from a year ago.

That was the smallest annual increase since January of this year.

And we also saw a drop in the core inflation rate, which excludes food and energy.

The core rate was up 6.3% from a year ago.

So this is all good news with a couple of caveats.

And I'll get to the markets in a second.

First of all, food prices are up a lot.

They're up 10.9% from a year ago.

The food part of the CPI report is 14% of CPI.
