When I asked listeners what they wanted to hear about on #apodadayinmay a lot of requests to discuss food, diet and nutrition were sent in. I am now on the hunt for the right sort of expert to discuss things such as emotional eating, binge eating and the more complex issues around our diets and what we eat as it's a topic that deserves its own show and also the right person to contribute to the conversation.
In this episode though I'm answering the question about my favourite foods, meals and recipes with my Top 5 Easy meals...
Amelia Freer's Simple Prawn, Coconut and Aubergine Curry.
Eve Kalinik's Sweet Potato & Halloumi Warm Salad.
Eve Kalinik is also the nutritional therapist I saw when I was struggling with gut issues related to stress and anxiety. For her practice visit Eve Kalinik.
Amelia Freer's Lentil, Beetroot & Hazelnut Salad with Ginger Dressing.
Poached egg and avocado on toast - as described on the show.
The cook book I'm most excited about is Ian Haste's The 7-Day Basket: 1 Basket, 1 Week, 7 Meals.

0:25.0 | that everyone should have in their repertoire. Now we are talking food and what I |
0:29.9 | would like to say here is this episode has come out of questions that were |
0:36.2 | answered by you my most excellent listeners about a pod a day in May things that you |
0:40.3 | would like to discuss things that you would like to know questions you would like to discuss, things that you would like to know, questions you would like to ask, etc, etc. |
0:45.4 | And in addition to the kind of meals that I like to prepare, the meals that I think are good, etc, |
0:51.8 | a lot of you came back with requests for |
0:55.4 | episodes on food in terms of one's relationship with food, tackling things like |
1:00.5 | binge eating and control issues around food, but those are for want of a better expression meaty subjects and it's only right that if I |
1:11.8 | discuss those on this poll cast that I get the best expert I can possibly get access to to really help unpick those issues in episodes that will then be very useful for you. |
1:22.2 | So bear with, they're on the agenda, I'm |
1:25.1 | working on them, but I really do want to get the right people to help with that because |
1:30.1 | I don't want to half ask it for one of a better expression. |
1:32.8 | But for this mini show I just want to do a very simple one. |
1:36.4 | I'm going to share with you my absolute favorite meals. |
1:39.2 | Now I do fancy myself as a bit of a cook. I love cooking. I love how meditative it is to follow a recipe |
1:46.0 | and to be able to just, you know, chopping vegetables is very meditative. Just the idea of seeing the war ingredients turn into something completely different, |
1:55.3 | I just really get off on that. |
1:57.5 | And I just want to say I don't cook like this all the time, I'm a swine for eating on the go. I'm a swine for not eating and relying on like a couple of lattes until about 8, 9 o'clock and then eating something bad. But when I've got myself together and I am planning and I'm a little bit more organized, |
2:15.9 | then these are the meals that I make. |
