Hey, this is Trey. Thank you for listening to another podcast.

We're going to do this one a little bit differently.

It is Wednesday night, September the 10th, just a few hours after yet another act of political violence, or at least the shooting of a political figure, public figure in the United States, Charlie Kirk, assassinated in Utah, speaking to a group of students.

0:50.2

I was actually unwittingly on the phone at the time of the shooting.

0:56.0

Of course, I didn't know about it till later, like everybody else heard about it later.

2:19.6

next 24 to 48 hours, but it was a political event. Charlie Kirk was a prominent political

2:26.3

figure. The most common question I got in the aftermath is, what is this world coming to?

2:33.4

It's the same thing we ask when presidents are shot or shot at.

2:37.0

It's the same thing we ask when a crazed man attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer.

2:45.0

Same thing.

2:47.0

We ask after Stevie Scalise and others were shot, practicing for a congressional baseball guy.
