Welcome back to another episode of the Nutrition Science Podcast.

I'm your host, Dr. Adrian Chavez, and today we are going to be discussing three popular topics.

0:20.5

The first thing that we're going to talk about three popular topics. The first thing that we're

0:21.1

going to talk about are peptides. I've been seeing a lot about peptides, getting a lot of questions

0:26.1

about peptides. We'll discuss what peptides actually are and whether or not there's something that you

0:31.0

should be paying attention to. The second thing that we're going to cover is apple, cider, vinegar,

0:36.1

and blood sugar control control and weight loss.

0:38.5

So I've gotten a lot of questions about that. Is it good for blood sugar control? Is it something

that if you have a high HBA1C you should be using? And also does it help with weight loss?

0:50.1

So we'll discuss the actual research behind apple cider vinegar. And then the last thing that we're

whether there's benefits to grinding them versus eating them whole because I think there's a lot

1:15.8

A peptide is just a string of amino acids, a short string of amino acids. So proteins are

1:22.9

strings of amino acids that are 50 or more amino acids long. And peptides are strings of amino acids

1:28.9

that are between two and 50 amino acids long. And what are amino acids? I've talked about this

1:34.4

quite a bit more in the protein episode. So I'll link down the show notes and I recommend checking

1:38.7

that out. But amino acids are essentially the building blocks for everything in our body. So the amino acids that

1:45.7

come from protein. So when we eat a protein, our body breaks that protein down into amino acids.
