Summary

It’s been a while since we devoted an episode to answering listener questions, so that’s exactly what we’re doing this week.

In this episode, Jason tackles a few of the questions that have been submitted recently such as:

*Internal or external hip rotation in forward folds? (A simple question with a not-so-simple answer)

*Does that upper arm bone externally rotate in Chaturanga?

*Is passively stretching a muscle or group of muscles (like the psoas and other hip flexors) that is both tight and weak a good idea? Or is there a better way to approach?

*Any tips on floating from Uttanasana to sit and jumping through?

0:35.6

especially, specifically, we know that this

0:38.3

is happening all around, but in San Francisco,

0:42.4

one of the biggest chain of yoga studios announced that they

0:46.0

were closing this week. Yeah and you know when we say chain of yoga studios it can

0:50.2

sound kind of impersonal, but one, they continue to employ a lot of people and they have a ton of good teachers and they have a big community.

1:00.0

And two, Yoga Tree really was a staple in the San Francisco Bay Area, but especially the San Francisco community for a long time.

1:10.0

I mean, I remember when they opened, I think they opened in around 2000 2001 and it is God

1:20.1

it's just one of those things that reminds you that everything is alive and everything goes through cycles.

1:25.2

Because that studio was the epicenter of yoga in this city for a really long time. So not to dwell on it, but yeah, to take a moment and

1:36.9

acknowledge I think all that they did through the years, they had a couple of different

1:41.8

ownership, but all the

1:46.1

teachers that are there and all the students. Yeah, yeah.

1:52.8

Yeah, for me it was that yeah they I think they did open around 2000
