Summary

"Doing a weekly review is as valuable to me as meditating."

~ Fellow Meditator, Aurthur from South Africa

What does simplicity mean to you? As you begin a new year, you may have goals to organize your home, plans to be more productive, and steps to take better care of your health. We often begin with the external around us as we improve our lives. The best way to improve your exterior life is to simplify your interior life. In this week's series, you'll discover how to improve your interior life.   This is part 7 of a 7-part Simplicity meditation series, episodes 2194-2200.   THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: You're invited to take part in a Simplicity Quest. You're encouraged to disengage from all media. Let go of the external this week and focus on your interior life.   THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION TECHNIQUES:   Day 1:   Simplicity Awareness Visualization Day 2:  Affirmation "I am enough." Day 3:  Inhale + mentally repeat, "I am enough." on simplicity. This is simplicity in regard to your interior life. All week long, you have

0:25.3

been discovering meditation techniques to help you interiorize, to focus on what matters

0:33.1

most for you, to feel grounded, to feel as though you are enough, to calm your mind and

0:41.2

your body.

0:42.5

And you've been taking part in a very important quest this week.

0:47.3

I've heard from many of you that you already were on a quest to refrain from the news this week. And I hope that you found it helpful.

0:58.3

I have to admit that there were a few times I started to Google the news and then I remembered

1:03.9

I'm on a quest and I want to honor that quest right along with you.

1:13.5

It's not as though I watch the news very often,

1:18.2

but I felt like maybe there was something happening that I should check into.

1:22.6

And then I realized I'm not going to be missing anything.

1:32.3

But what I could do instead of watching the news will be better for me than getting stuck in that news trap and it does feel like a trap doesn't it it feels like the

1:37.9

news just ensnars you as you read one sensationalized headline after the other, not really knowing if what you're reading is true.

1:50.1

And if there's any truth in it, it's so divisive rather than being constructive and helpful and useful.

2:01.1

It seems as though it's just designed to tear people apart

2:05.8

and to make you feel afraid and worried

2:11.7

so that you'll keep coming back for more and consuming more news.

2:17.8

That's what it seems like to me most days that I read the news.

2:23.0

So this has been a great week to refrain from media.
