The start of President Donald Trump's second term is being marked with sweeping immigration

raids. More than 2,000 arrests have been made across the country in just two days.

And Trump's borders are Tom Holman has defended the changes to a longstanding policy,

allowing federal immigration agents to make arrests in

and near schools and churches.

We not go into schools or hospitals as a matter of practice, but if it's a significant public

safety threat or a significant homeland security threat, there's no safe haven.

We'll go, we need to go and take them off the street.

But data from the advocacy group witness at the border shows so far the raids haven't led to more deportation flights.

And even though migrants are being flown out of the U.S., the number of immediate deportations is around the same as usual.
