1:22.0

Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. Welcome to L.A.

1:24.3

Yeah, man. I'm psyched. I'm starting to slowly fall in low with the city, maybe quickly. Yeah. Do you know Robert Anton Wilson? Have you heard of this guy? I do not know. He was really good friends with Tim Leary, former editor at Playboy. He was doing a lot of the drug content, like, when stuff was coming up. And he used to live here. And he, I think, settled in the Bay. He's like, the first few days you're in Los Angeles, it feels like Kevin. A few days later, it feels like hell. You know, I haven't. Not exactly. I haven't started feeling the hell-ish part yet. You know, it's still pretty good. That's probably early 90s. Yeah. The pandemic part can still be, was a bit hellish but overall it's good yeah yeah so um he's worth reading if you haven't

2:02.7

checked him out So he's worth

2:02.2

reading if you haven't checked him out yet. He's an incredible thinker. I think one of the more

2:05.4

important psychedelic thinkers. Yeah. All right. Let's get into it. So I like to start a little bit

2:10.8

with like who you are. But let's start with empath for it. Like what is Empath Ventures?

2:16.7

Mbath Ventures is a venture capital fund that invests in psychedelic medicine companies. And we, it's just me. It's my fund that I started by myself, don't have any partners or anything, although I do have some amazing advisors that I work with. And yeah, we invest in the biotech stuff that you hear about a lot, but we also invest in some of the other more weirder parts like software that makes music for psychedelic therapy. And we invested in like a center in Mexico that does Ibogaine treatments to get people off opioids. So we're kind of like trying to branch out from a lot of just the pure biotech stuff that a lot of the psychedelics companies got to hedge a little bit right biotech so risky yeah and i also i mean we can talk about it later but um i think that the idea that like everyone in the world is going to use some novel psychedelic molecule versus mushrooms or mdma or ketamine or lSD is kind of crazy can't wait to get you know what i? Can't wait to get into that. It's not that it won't happen. Like I'm sure some of this

3:10.4

I will, but it seems insane to think that's the only outcome. Yeah. Like if LSD is $3 and, you know,

3:18.0

Compass 4-526 is $10,000. What am I buying? Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. So I started Empath in September of last year,
