Hello there everybody. Welcome to psychedelics today. Thank you for tuning in to this episode with myself, David Drapkin talking with Ifitio Harvey. So Ifatio is an amazing woman who I met

0:23.4

six months ago in Toronto from Research to Reality. We've hung out a few times since then. She even

0:29.3

came over to us in Jersey and went out with my wife for karaoke. I wasn't feeling so well,

0:34.7

so I stayed home and I don't really like karaoke very much.

0:39.8

She's just full of laughter and wisdom, real people person, very musical, and speaks her

0:46.8

truth without holding back. So it's an honour to be friends and to know Fetai, her work from

0:53.7

their experience in Maps, drug policy alliance,

0:57.2

and now her leading people of color psychedelic collective kind of gives her that ability to

1:02.2

kind of frame her life experiences, but also have a bit of a platform for other people to rally

1:08.5

around and to kind of add their voices as well, which is just awesome to

1:12.2

see. And related to her calling and her voice, we did a bit of blue sky thinking about kind of

1:18.8

what could happen if her kind of mission was to come to fruition. And it didn't get into the kind of abstract or overly optimistic blue sky

1:31.2

thinking. It was really kind of hands-on nitty-gritty blue sky that we create, kind of rolling up sleeves

1:40.8

and very, very practical stuff, particularly around our voices and not

1:47.9

shutting up. So refusing to let other people kind of frame the narrative to build the ecosystem

1:55.7

to define what psychedelic access should look like and not letting people ignore the impacts of the

2:04.3

war on drugs and the impacts of racism, historical and current. So without further ado, I'll read her

2:11.8

bio. If Italy-Harvey is the founder of the People of Color Psychedelic Collective, which educates

2:18.7

and builds community with people of color that are interested in psychedelics in ending

2:22.5

the war on drugs. If Itaio is a member of the federal policy guidelines for psychedelics

2:27.2

working group led by healing equity and liberation. She was also a member of the Research

2:32.1

to Reality Global Summit on Psychedelic Assisted Therapies
